Power A Vintage Stereo With A Raspberry Pi

When we think of the Raspberry Pi as a system to power a stereo, we’re usually thinking of something sleek and small. DIY enthusiast Todd Kumpf had the opposite idea and made an old-school stereo powered by a Raspberry Pi with brushed aluminium, switches and stained wood.

The system integrates a Raspberry Pi as an Airplay receiver (which we’ve shown you how to do before), parts from a vintage turntable, oscilloscope and other older parts. If that’s not enough, the screen also displays classic arcade games like PacMan and Asteroids. It’s a lovely system, and although it looks like a lot of work, Kumpf walks you through the process of making it for yourself pretty clearly.
