Check The Weather With A Forecast-Projecting Lamp

Check The Weather With A Forecast-Projecting Lamp

If checking the weather on your computer or phone seems a little ho-hum, you can use an Arduino to project the forecast directly on a lamp shade.

This build relies on a Bluetooth low energy module and an Arduino to communicate with an iPhone to pull down weather data. When the weather data is downloaded, a servo spins the proper mask into place in front of an LED bulb to project a pictogram of weather conditions onto a lamp shade. You’ll need some background in electronics to do this yourself, but the result is impressive.
