Ask LH: How Can I Automatically Sort Screen Captures By Date?

Hey Lifehacker, I’m currently using Chronolapse to generate lots of screenshots, but unfortunately it clumps them all into one big folder instead of separating them by date. Is there some way to have a folder automatically separate its contents into individual folders for each date? I tried Belvedere but if it has the answer I wasn’t able to ask it the right question. Cheers, Capture Crazed

Dear CC,

It sounds like you need“>Sub Div — this is an old Windows-based application that automatically sorts files into folders based on the date that they were created. According to the guys over at Ghacks, the program works well, is user-friendly and capable of sorting large folders full of files extremely quickly.

If any other readers have suggestions of their own, let CC know in the comments section below!
