Add Weather And Google Calendar Information To Your Kindle

Add Weather And Google Calendar Information To Your Kindle

The Kindle’s screensaver is pretty, but useless. If you want to spice it up with relevant information, including weather and calendar data, programmer Pablo Mateo shows you how to do it.

The tweak is based on a weather station hack we’ve seen before, but your Kindle remains functional as an ereader after doing it. This hack changes the wallpaper to an image that includes the weather, date and your Google Calendar information. It takes a bit of work to set up a server and jailbreak the Kindle, but the end result is a far more useful screensaver than just an image. Head over to GitHub for the full setup guide and all the files you’ll need.
