If You Still Want A TechNet Subscription, Grab One Today

Last month, Microsoft announced plans to close down its popular TechNet subscription service which let IT pros test out its software without having to pay a fortune for individual licences. New sign-ups and subscription extensions are only being accepted until 31 August (that’s tomorrow), so if you still want TechNet for another year, you need to get in fast.

Despite online protests, Microsoft is sticking to its guns on this one; even if you sign up today, there’s no prospect you’ll enjoy the service for longer than a year. Existing subscribers can extend for another year, but only if their subscription expires before 30 September.
