- This morning, BBC unveiled the actor tapped to take over from 11th Doctor Matt Smith in the role of the universe’s last Time Lord. In an inspired choice, the Beeb has gone with Peter Capaldi who you may know as Malcolm Tucker from The Thick Of It. “Like the Doctor himself I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight.
