Boxes Catalogues And Organises Your Stuff, Makes It Easy To Sell

iOS: Boxes gives you a place to organise your things, snap photos of them, share them with others if you want, even make them available for sale. Thanks to a recent update, you can add receipts, warranty info and more to make it a full personal inventory.

I played with Boxes a while ago, and while it’s always been a fun way to take photos of your things and keep a little gallery of your collections or belongings, it fell short of being a real tool for a home inventory or a catalogue of your collection. Now, Boxes features a private info area where you can add things like the value of your items, any receipts or warranty data, and your original purchase price or date. You can even add things like an item’s UPC, serial and model number, and barcode.

As always, you have the option to share your collections with the rest of the Boxes community or keep it private. If you do choose to share, you can take as many photos with your iPhone or iPad as choose, and really show it off to the world. Follow other Boxes users with interesting collections (or if you find someone selling something you want), and you can tap their profile to see what they have, zoom in on their photos, and leave them a comment.

If you’re building a collection or a home inventory, you can stop there — Boxes is a great handheld tool to do so. If you’re interested in selling the things you add, however, Boxes has also integrated eBay listing, so a few taps lets you log in to eBay and post your item for sale. All in all, even if you’re not selling and just organising, Boxes makes it fun to do it and find other people doing the same thing.
