Vine Adds Protected Posts, Camera Tools

Twitter’s video social networking app Vine has added a handful of new features (no doubt the launch of video on Instagram has added to the competitive pressure). The updated options include new camera tools and the ability to mark a post as “protected” so only selected people can see it.

As the announcement points out, protecting your posts will be meaningful if you share them via a non-Vine service such as Twitter or Facebook. Other changes include 15 pre-defined channels for categorising your videos and easier sharing.

The updated features are available in the iOS app. According to Vine’s blog post, the Android app will add protected posts as an option later today, while the other features will be incorporated next week.
