Whether you work at a place that blocks a bunch of web sites, or you can’t access a page because it’s behind a paywall, tech blog Digital Inspiration shows you how to use a couple of Google proxy servers to get around those restrictions.
Google has a set of servers that you can trick to let you use them to get around web site blocks. For example, the Google Modules service can be used simple by typing in:
http://www.gmodules.com/ig/proxy?url=http://example.com/
This operates as a proxy and routes your traffic to wherever you want to go. It’s a pretty easy way to get around blocks without doing much work. Head over to Digital Inspiration for a few more example, as well as bookmarklets so you can get quick access.

Nice one 🙂
My workplace is already 1 step ahead of you and has blocked gmodules for “proxy avoidance”
Same.
Interestingly this happily jumped passed my work proxy… Which is one of Australia’s largest companies. Go figure.
Tested it with a harmless gif turned up from a search.
Doesn’t work with netflix etc. because of cookie issues.
