For jobs that involve a lot of walking, it’s easy to tear through shoe soles. Tyre treads, on the other hand, can take a lot of punishment. As Hackaday points out, you can remove the tread from an old tyre and attach it to a shoe to make it last longer.
The process of removing tyre tread from the rest of the tyre is a cumbersome process. However, the hard work pays off by replacing the old worn-out soles of your favourite shoes with rubber that’s designed to handle the weight of a vehicle.
