A computer technician was arrested last week for accidentally broadcasting pornography on a giant LED screen in a major Chinese city. The movie’s title? The Forbidden Legend: Sex and Chopsticks. We wish we were making this up.

According to the report in South China Morning Post, IT contractor Yuan Mou had been hired to repair the Jumbotron advertising display outside Jilin City train station.
Apparently, Yuan inadvertently left his laptop connected to the huge public display while taking some “recreational” time with a pornographic movie. (He had been living inside the Kaixuan building while carrying out maintenance work on the screen.)
Around 10 minutes of the explicit video was broadcast to hundreds of onlookers before Yuan received a frantic phone call from his Southern Advertising Company employers. According to the report, Jilin police have since taken the hapless porn fan into custody for questioning.
We suppose if you’re going to get caught watching porn at work, The Forbidden Legend: Sex and Chopsticks isn’t the worst title in the world. It sounds kind of classy and probably has a proper plot with interesting twists and turns. (Indeed, it’s actually based on a classic Ming dynasty novel, according to Google. We’re sure he was only watching it for historical education.)

I used to work for one of the big international computer vendors in the UK. In the late ’90s there were about a dozen people sacked for emailing round “offensive images” (not certain what it was, but porn was the obvious candidate). One of the offenders still lived at home with his parents and was too embarrased to admit to being fired (I can understand why) so each morning he got dressed in his suit and “went off to work”. He managed to get another job soon after and stopped having to pretend.
LoL that’s quite an epic way to be caught watching porn at work!

Working in a small business with all guys, we had a very strict “must forward” porn policy.

A gentleman was fired from here for keeping his porn at work. He used to copy all the images into a powerpoint presentation, give it a boring and technical name, and head the document with half-a-dozen slides about something obscure. He’d save them on the fileserver in one of the less-frequented projects folders
It was years before anybody opened one and realised what was going on.
