We have good news for everyone who didn’t like the small, docked window for composing messages in Gmail. Google has listened to our complaints and is rolling out a new full-screen option.
With the option enabled, the revamped compose window will be centred in your inbox and can be expanded to fit your screen. (When the update rolls around to you over the next few days, you won’t have to use a shortcut to open the message in a new window.)
You’ll also be able to click an arrow to switch to full screen or set the full-screen view as the default. Finally, solving another annoyance: the formatting toolbar will be on by default with the new compose window.
The new compose now has a full-screen option [Gmail on Google+ via The Next Web]

I can’t believe this is news on nearly every tech blog right now.. What a non-event lols 😛
After signing up for an Outlook.com account last year when it launched just to test it out, I’m glad I permanently switched given the changes I’ve seen to Gmail in the past year (I still check my Gmail account once a week or so just in case.) I liked Gmail when I switched over to Outlook, and Outlook was only supposed to be a trial, but in the last year Microsoft have fixed many of the bugs in Outlook (without messing too much with the interface) and Gmail seems to have gone down hill in it’s interface.
