Add One ‘Win’ To Your Task List Every Day

When you prioritise your tasks for the day, you probably categorise them by urgency and importance. Weblog Sources of Insight recommends you also add in some “wins”: tasks that will make you feel accomplished at the end of the day.

We’ve all had those days where we feel really awesome for finishing a few specific tasks. Sometimes, those tasks are the same as your urgent and important ones, but prioritising one or two of those tasks could also make you feel much better at the day’s end:

In this step, you crush your overwhelming list of things to do. To do so, identify Three Wins for today. Simply think of three things that if you achieved them you would consider them wins for today.

This is a powerful step because it helps you focus and prioritise on a short-set of key wins for today. This will also help you give more meaning to the things you do. It’s a simple way to, as Stephen Covey would say, begin with the end in mind, simply by thinking of Three Wins that you would like to have under your belt today.

Even if it isn’t your most important or urgent task, you’ll feel a lot more energised (and ready to do more work tomorrow) if you feel like you got something worthwhile done. Hit the link for more to-do prioritising tips.
