Make Compact Potholders Out Of Sugru

Make Compact Potholders Out Of Sugru

We’ve previously discussed using Sugru to heatproof your cookware. If you don’t want colourful putty permanently attached to your pots and pans, you can use the same principle to make micro-potholders.

These Sugru creations aren’t potholders or oven mitts in the traditional sense; they’re basically finger and handle coverings to give you just enough protection to transport hot dishes. That said, they’re really compact, and you could easily hang them from a refrigerator magnet for quick access. The Instructable from lindarose92 offers up two options. One involves folding a rectangle of Sugru over a pen to create a tiny pot handle cover that you can move from pot to pot. The other suggests creating Sugru thimbles to heatproof the tips of your fingers. They won’t provide as much coverage as a full oven mitt, but they take up way less space, and still get the job done.
