One of the hassles of putting together your own furniture is keeping track of the assortment of tiny screws. In the unlikely event that none of them do a disappearing act, you still have to remember which screws go where — easier said than done. Lifehaacker reader Lee McGurren has a simple solution that will stop you crawling around while squinting at the carpet…
They say necessity is the mother of invention. I was putting an IKEA Pax wardrobe together in a small space and keeping all those screws, dowels and fasteners together was proving a bit of a headache. The ice cube tray comes to the rescue! This made life so much easier when getting all those little bits together for the next phase of instruction deciphering. Hope this little tip can benefit some other Lifehackers!
Too easy! If anyone has an alternative solution of their own, let us know in the comments section below.

Thanks for publishing guys!
Haha, nice tip guys (and @doc_brown by the looks!)
PS: Nice dowels :3
And remember they give all of these away for free at Ikea, they have a huge wall of free screws and stuff at Ikea tempe if you lose anything or need replacements
Also- I found out the hard way last night – just don’t balance it precariously on top of a ladder, and then bump it with your elbow. stick some blu-tack on the bottom to be safe.
