Windows Phone App For Desktop Improves Syncing, Podcast Options

Microsoft has updated Windows Phone App For Desktop, its software package to sync Windows Phone devices with your PC. Along with bug fixes and performance improvements, the new release makes it possible to add podcasts from sources other than iTunes, and also allows you to sync from any source, including external hard drives.

The ability to easily add music from iTunes was heavily emphasised when Windows Phone 8 launched, but it’s good to see an acknowledgement that not everyone relies on the Apple universe for their music. The app is a free download for Windows 7 and Windows 8; grab it at the link below.
