At what point does ‘window shopping’ graduate into a fully committed purchase? This infographic from the online store creation site BigCommerce explains the myriad factors that go into a buying decision; from online availability to customer reviews.
Some of the interesting factoids highlighted in the infographic include the most shopped-for items on smartphones (electronics lead the pack, natch), the impact of social media on buying habits (81 per cent of respondents were influenced to buy a product via a social media post from a friend) and the growing trend towards using brick-and-mortar stores to research products before buying them online. Regular readers will recall the furor this caused when one canny merchant decided to charge customers for browsing.
