Lifehacker reader Stealtheh wanted to make his iPhone home screen a bit more minimalistic, so he took a flat icon theme and a few other tweaks to clean it up. Here’s how it turned out.
Here’s what you need to make this home screen:
- The FlatIcons icon theme, available in Cydia
- Zeppelin, available in Cydia, for the new status bar icon
- Springtomize 2, available in Cydia, to hide the dock and add a fifth row of apps
- This wallpaper
Here’s how it works:
The status bar (Zeppelin icon) is the Cloud that comes with Zeppelin, and I hid the battery icon since all I really need is the percentage. The Icons are from “FlatIcons,” a cydia theme available on one of the stock repos. I used Springtomize 2 to hide the dock and add a 5th row instead, since I like the clean look better.
For what it’s worth, you can change the carrier logo without jailbreaking via a tool called CarrierEditor that slipstreams a modifed carrier update into the phone through iTunes. I personally have my OFW iPhone 4 with a Batman logo. 🙂
