Reeder For Mac And iPad Free For A Limited Time

Mac/iPad: Our favourite RSS news reader, Reeder, is currently free for the iPad and Mac. The developer also promises support is on the way for RSS alternatives to Google Reader.

Reeder is one of the cleanest RSS readers out there, but its main focus was its ability to sync with the now discontinued Google Reader. Fortunately, Reeder will get support for alternative RSS feeds and its own system to deal with them. Until that happens, it’s free. Here’s what the developer has to say:

Reeder for Mac and iPad will be updated to 2.0 in the coming months. Version 2.0 will add all the features of the iPhone version, including all sharing and syncing services. Until then, Reeder for Mac and Reeder for iPad will be free, starting today.

The iPhone version (which also happens to be our favourite news reader for the device) already has support for a number of other services, so it will remain at $2.99, but now is an excellent time to pick up our favourite news reader for Mac and iPad for free.
