Alive Helps You Reach Your Goals By Turning Them Into Manageable Steps

Alive is a new webapp designed to help you take those long term goals in your head such as “learn Mandarin” or “exercise regularly” and turn them into a plan, complete with individual steps you can follow. The site also lets you get help from friends and motivate others to achieve their goals.

It looks complicated at first blush, but underneath a pretty busy UI is a powerful tool for finding the things you’ve always wanted to do and adding them to your list of goals, complete with the steps required to make them happen. In many cases, other people who have the same goals have already fleshed out the steps required, and you can add them all to your profile and just get started. If your personal goal isn’t listed, you can create it from scratch, and the site walks you through building your plan.

Alive calls each goal a “challenge”, and once you’ve added one to your profile, you can go back and add the steps required to make it happen from the challenge page. You can also see other people working on the same challenge and offer them support in the form of a “boost,” or points that they earn when the accomplish the next step. Collect points, and you level up. You can add or create as many challenges as you want, and make them public (so others can support you) or private (so you can make progress on your own) if you choose. The service is free, and you can sign up via email or via Facebook to get your friends involved. Hit the link below to give it a try.
