Add Reminders To Astrid With Siri And Get Your To-Dos On Any Device

iOS: Astrid, one of our favourite to-do apps, now features full Siri integration. You can ask Siri to remind you of something and have it directed right to your Astrid to-do list, which you can then see on your phone, tablet or on the web.

We previously showed you a way to add voice to-dos to Astrid using Siri. It was a workaround, and it required using IFTTT as an intermediary. Now, that workaround isn’t necessary, thanks to an Astrid update that features Reminders integration. Here’s how to enable it:

  1. Tap the menu button in the top left
  2. Tap Profile
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Import Siri & Reminders
  4. Tap Import from Reminders toggle to put it in the “on” position

This essentially tells Astrid to pull your to-dos from the iPhone’s default Reminders app (where Siri saves them) to Astrid regularly, so you don’t have to have another mechanism to push them. Henry Tsai notes over at the Astrid Blog below that you can tell Astrid to clear the Reminders app after importing by selecting Complete on import, so you don’t get a reminder from Astrid of your to-do and another from the Reminders app.

The best part of this tweak is that if you’re already using Astrid on another device, you can add to-dos by voice using Siri and then see that to-do wherever you are.
