Daniel Saffioti, who is deputy director and principal fellow at the University of Wollongong, explained the philosophy at the media launch event for VMware Horizon. As he points out, not everyone working in IT takes that view. “The problem with technologists is that sometimes they don’t align very well to the aspirations of the organisation.”

“Support, advise, enable is our proposition as an IT shop to the broader organisation. Our top priority as an organisation is to provide people with an experience. Our job as an organisation is to create a computing environment which is sustainable and robust.”
