Getting a job takes a lot of work these days, and sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone in order to get the job you really want. What is the craziest thing you've ever done to score a job?
A recent article in Forbes highlights one student's cover letter to a Wall St firm that took the brutally honest approach. Crazy cover letters aren't rare; game designer Tim Schafer submitted his in the form of a game design document and many others have had success with unusual approaches. So, we want to know: what is the craziest thing you have done that landed you a job?

Fly to Australia (from the USA) on a one-way ticket for the first (and only) interview for a position in Australia, just trusting that somehow the universe would see to it that I got the job.
Laughably: It did.
Congrats :)
Too bad you don't have citizenship.
I'm currently on a 4 year work visa. The PR paperwork has already been submitted, and I await positive news from DIAC (that's immigration, in wannabe-immigrant speak). One year after that positive news, I *will* have citizenship. :-)
