Press For Android Gets Background Sync And Faster Navigation

Android: Press is a sharp-looking Google Reader client that we love, but the app was missing some features to put it over the top of others. Now, it has been updated to include them and address common user complaints.

The latest version of Press now makes it easy to move from one article to the next, adds navigation gestures, and syncs your Google Reader feeds as soon as the app launches instead of manually. Plus, the app syncs in the background automatically, so you don’t have to manually refresh every time you want to see what’s new. The app also now allows you to tweak the text display on-screen, and if you’re viewing an image, you can easily see the URL and the image title.

The update also includes a number of bug fixes and speed improvements. Press is still $1.99 at Google Play, and while there are certainly other options, including the recently mentioned Flow Reader, Press definitely stands out once you start using it.
