Briefly: Google Slides Adds Offline, Windows Azure Adds Media Services


Brief news items of note for Lifehacker readers, including Google Slides adding offline mode, and Windows Azure adding Media Services.

  • Google has added offline access to its Slides presentation app, a feature that’s already available in Docs. Offline is always welcome, though Slides is arguably one of the lesser-used components in Google Drive. Google is promising offline access for the Sheets spreadsheet app soon.
  • Windows Azure has added new Media Services, which enables streaming of video via a variety of formats and to most major devoces. A number of broadcasters beta-tested Media Services at the London 2012 Olympics.
