Remember To Reward Yourself After Major Accomplishments

Working from home has its benefits, but it can make you crazy, too. If you work remotely, you have to keep yourself motivated and engaged, which means filling in for the social cues you’d get in an office environment. That includes rewarding yourself when you win big, or finish a big project. If you don’t, who will?

The folks at Apartment Therapy suggest that you take a Netflix break and watch a career-oriented documentary or something that inspires you, sleep in a bit if you can, take a nap, or go on a coffee date with someone in your field that you admire. Whatever it is, make sure it’s something that makes you feel good.

We’ve discussed how to stay motivated when working from home before, but when you’re not under the watchful eye of a manager, it’s easy to slave away in obscurity thinking that your accomplishments aren’t noted or appreciated. You can always talk to your manager to make sure they know about the things you’ve done, but don’t forget to treat yourself as well.
