Use Plastic Tubing To Seal Kitchen Bench Gaps

If you’ve ever pulled out your fridge to clean underneath it, chances are you’ve found plenty of crumbs and other bits of food that fall into the space between your bench top and the fridge. Even worse is watching it happen knowing you can’t get to it without pulling the fridge out. Thankfully, the solution is easy: clear plastic tubing that you can get at any hardware store.

The folks at The Family Handyman have a good idea here: a little clear plastic tubing will preserve the look of your countertop and block off that space so crumbs and other bits don’t slip down there while you’re cleaning or cooking. Just make sure to measure the space so you don’t accidentally buy tubing that’s too thick. Simply slide it into place, cut it to fit, and you’re done.
