Turn An Old Lamp Into A Flexible Smartphone Stand

If you want an easier way to keep your phone within arms reach, this DIY stand-from-a-lamp will let you stick your phone wherever you want.

Inspired by the $US30 Bobine stand, this $10 clone from CNET is cheap and gives you a little more control over what phone you use and where you stand the device.

All you need is an old lamp with a flexible neck — take the light bulb and wiring out, replace it with your phone charger, attach a suction cup and you’ve got a cheap, configurable smartphone stand. Check out the video above to see it in action.
