Work Backwards To Get Out Of A Creative Rut

We all get stuck on problems. Maybe it's a creative block where you don't know what to do next, or you feel like everything has already been done by someone else. Fast Company suggests that one solution is to take the Amazon approach and work backwards.

The basic idea here is to see the forest through the trees. Instead of working on steps or details, Amazon product managers actually write up the press release for their idea first:

Product managers start with a draft of an internal press release, one with quotes, setup details, and the usual promotional prose. Then they get to work creating the thing that reads so good in the release.

It's not just daydreaming up a great idea. For this to work, you need to actually write up the document that you would send to your boss, the press or anyone else before you start actually working on it. Head over to Fast Company for a few more ways to find your next big idea.
