Make Your Own Rubber Stamps

If you want to add a personal touch to invitations, cards and scrapbooks you can create your own rubber stamps by cutting an image into an eraser.

Wedding craft weblog The Sweetest Occasion covered creating his and her place cards using custom made lips images for females and moustaches for males. To make your own rubber stamps all you need to do is draw your desired shape on a rubber eraser and carefully trace around the image with a hobby knife cutting directly downward at least 3mm in depth.

Then cut the top 3mm out from the non-stamp sides of the eraser using the same hobby knife being careful to not cut into the image or your fingers. The author advises that doing this in small sections is better than trying to cut out the excess material in one piece.
