Build Your Own iPhone Dock For A Dollar

Apple isn’t making a dock for the iPhone 5 and its Lightning connector, but DIYer Casey Neistat shows us how to make a simple one out of wood with around a dollar’s worth of parts.

It certainly isn’t as pretty as Apple’s old docks, but it will get the job done if you aren’t the type of person that likes loose wires at their desk. All you need is a few scraps of wood and some miscellaneous screws (if you have a workshop, you probably have everything you need on hand already).

Third-party docks will inevitably appear, but for now this is a workable (and super-cheap) solution which you could easily customise with a coat of point. Check out the video to see how to put it together.
