Mac: Your Mac performs lots of actions behind the scenes, and you generally don’t need to track them closely. If you like to keep a close eye on your system, Automatic Launch Object Detection will alert you when activity is detected in important system folders.
Automatic Launch Object Detection monitors configuration files stored in your launch and startup folders, and notifies you when actions take place that affect those locations. For instance, if you install an app that wants to start on launch, you’ll get an alert from Automatic Launch Object Detection. More often than not, these alerts are harmless and only communicate that something you’ve installed is saving a configuration file. However, in the case of malware, Automatic Launch Object Detection is a simple way to be notified when something odd is happening with your system. It’s a free download for Mac OS X.
