Use Salt To Give New Shirts Soft, Vintage Feels

New T-shirts never feel as comfortable as old ones. If you have a new shirt that needs softening, clothing company Octane suggest a quick bath in salt water.

The process simply involves filling a bucket with one litre of water and half a cup of salt. Submerge the shirt in the water, let it sit in the salt water for three days, and then wash it as you normally would. When you’re done, your stiff new shirt will be as soft as your favourite vintage T-shirt.
