Skip Firefox’s Add-On Compatibility Check With This Small Extension

Firefox: Now that Firefox is updating every few weeks, it’s annoying to have it sit there and check if all your add-ons are compatible with the new version — especially if you’ve forced them to turn themselves on anyway. This simple extension disables the compatibility check so you can update Firefox faster and get to browsing.

All you need to do is install the extension — appropriately named “Skip Addon Compatibility Check” — and leave it be. It’ll reset the extensions.lastAppVersion flag in about:config every time you close Firefox, so that if it updates, Firefox will skip the annoying compatibility check. It also turns off that pesky “What’s New” page that comes up every time you update Firefox.

Skip Addon Compatibility Check is a free download that works wherever Firefox does. Remember, if you’re having trouble with incompatible add-ons, the Add-On Compatibility Reporter may be able to fix them.
