PixMeAway Plans Your Next Trip Based On Photos You Like

Want to travel but not sure where to go? PixMeAway is a web app that simplifies the decision by recommending destinations based on photos that appeal to you the most, your “travel type” and trip requirements.

PixMeAway’s image-based travel search is quick and intuitive. The photos help you pin down the exact kinds of activities and atmosphere you’re looking for, which is easier than plugging in a bunch of keywords on Google.

After you’ve selected three to seven representative photos, the site assigns you one of seven travel types: action seeker Archie, educational tourist Olivia, independent traveller Toby, sun-loving careerist Max, nature lover Amelie, adrenaline-junkie Rocky and culture lover Charlotte.

Then you can select your travel requirements (shopping, seaside, travel with friends, spring/autumn) and get dozens of suggested destinations, places to visit, and even trips and tours similar users have recommended.

It’s a pretty interesting way to discover potential travel destinations you might not have considered before — especially if you’re a very visual person or are inspired by travel photos.
