It’s Official: Mountain Lion Release Is July 26


Apple has officially confirmed that it will be releasing Mountain Lion, the next major upgrade to Mac OS X, tomorrow (July 26). You’ll soon be able to download Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store for $20.99 and enjoy its new features.

To help everyone out, Apple has posted a how-to guide for people interested in upgrading. It will help you figure out if your Mac is compatible and the basic steps required to bring your computer to version 10.8 when the release hits in the early hours of tomorrow morning (we’ll update if Apple specifies an exact release time for Australia, though that hasn’t always happened in the past).
