Hang Framed Pictures Easily With A Twist Tie

Photo frames often come with some sort of mounting hook on the back to help you hang them on a nail in the wall, but that’s often a source of frustration because they’re thin and hard to level just right. How-to illustrator Yumi Sakugawa shares a tip that makes this a bit easier: use a twist tie.The idea is pretty simple (and illustrated above). All you do is hook the twist tie around whatever hanging mechanism is currently on the frame and twist the ends together to form a loop. This way you can easily catch the loop on the nail on your wall and hang the photo without issue. While some frames are easier than others and you won’t always need this trick, not all frames were created equal. I have a few that take a long time to get on the wall just right and plan to use this trick to save myself a lot of frustration after my upcoming move.
