Commonwealth Bank To Sell Optus, BigPond Recharge Vouchers Through NetBank

If you use prepaid for your phone or mobile broadband, it’s handy to be able to grab vouchers without having to head to a retail store or use your credit card. After successfully trialling selling Telstra recharge vouchers via NetBank, the Commonwealth Bank is planning to expand that offering to include recharge vouchers for Optus and BigPond media services such as music and games.

The bank outlines the plans for the changes in a recent post on its blog:

We trialled selling Telstra pre paid via NetBank and you have bought nearly 40k of Telstra vouchers. This little feature has really taken off (I even topped up my pre paid wireless when my home network died of old age) so we are going to make it a permanent feature. We are chatting with BigPond and Optus and plan to have them included by the end of the year.

While both Telstra and Optus allow you to purchase recharge vouchers online, using online banking saves having to keep an additional login and works even if you don’t have a credit card.
