Triposo Is A Smart Mobile Travel Guide That Tells You Where To Go Next

iPhone/Android: When you’re visiting a new city and have no clue where to go or what to do next, you’ll be glad you downloaded Triposo. The free app not only provides travel information offline, it offers recommendations based on the time, weather and more.

Triposo is a travel guide based on algorithms (the app was created by two ex-Googlers); it crawls the web for all the open-source travel content, then does some smart processing of that data to make guides that recommend the most relevant locations for travellers.

The one app, which works for the whole world, has some killer features. From within the app, download the city or country guides before you travel and then you can interact with them without an internet connection. You’ll find the expected city guide, maps, and sightseeing information for over 8000 destinations. You can keep track of your experiences in Triposo’s travel log.

The most intriguing part of the updated app is its active suggestions for where to go, so you don’t have to search for things to do yourself. Triposo will take into account the weather, the time of day, your location, and the hours of local businesses and attractions nearby before offering its recommendations. For example, if it’s a rainy day at noon, Triposo might show you some museums and restaurants. The app will also show you the top destinations in front of you based on the direction you’re facing.

Pretty handy to have on your next trip.
