Prep Fruit Ahead Of Time So You Actually Eat It

Wasting food is easy to do, especially when it comes to perishables like fruits and vegetables. However, if you’re the type to prioritise a chocolate bar over a fruit snack for the convenience, cooking blog the Kitchn recommends one way to make it easier on yourself is to prep those fruit snacks ahead of time.

It’s an old and simple idea, but it’s still worth noting now and again. People like snacks to be easy, and if you want to integrate healthier food into your diet, you need to make that healthy food as easy to grab as junk food. The Kitchn’s recommendation is easy to implement:

Strawberries, raspberries, melons – I like to wash, peel, and slice a big batch of these or other fruit over the weekend, and put it in the refrigerator for eating throughout the week. I find that I eat more fruit, and that I enjoy it more when it is cold from the fridge.

Obviously, this isn’t as necessary for something like an apple or banana. For other fruits, it’s a simple way to make it easy on yourself and your cravings so you pick that cup of freshly cut strawberries instead of the chocolate.
