CyanogenMod 9 RC Brings Ice Cream Sandwich, Lots Of Customisation To Android

Android: Popular Android ROM CyanogenMod has finally graduated version 9 to release candidate status, bringing Ice Cream Sandwich and other great features to a number of Android phones.

There may still be a bug or two in these versions, but you should find that they're more than suitable for your daily driver. Not only has CyanogenMod 9 updated the underlying OS to Ice Cream Sandwich, but it contains a lot of the customisation features we've come to know and love from the ROM, like a configurable launcher, the ability to add information and apps to your lock screen, and even a Tasker-like automation feature built right in. We don't have a device to test it on yet, and there doesn't seem to be an official changelog, so if you want to see what's new, download it for your phone and see it for yourself. If you find a cool feature you like, let us know about it in the comments below, and be sure to brush up on our favourite lesser-known Ice Cream Sandwich features.

CyanogenMod 9 RC is a free download and currently available for these phones. Other devices can try out the nightly builds or search for unofficial builds.

sweet, about time the G Note gets official support!

and they disabled the dual mic because of echo issues. :(

To bad the pen doesn't work though? (Or does it?)

Of course you iFanboys wouldn't have a device to test it on... /trollface

Which version should I download for the GS2 on Telstra?

I have had CM9 on my HP Touchpad for ages and let me tell you, upgrading from CM7 made the tablet act so much more like a tablet!

I updated my Samsung Galaxy Tab (Telstra version) and this CM9 makes the device awesome to use again!
