Seevl Adds Liner Notes And Music Discovery To YouTube Music Videos

Chrome: YouTube is one of the most popular places to check out music, but if you’re flying blind looking for new artists, you’re stuck keeping multiple windows open while doing your research. To help provide some context for videos, Seevl is a Chrome extension that adds a sidebar to music videos with biographies, track notes, related artists and more.

When you pull up a music video Seevl sits on the right sidebar. It has tabs that give you a brief biography of the artist, a simple fact-sheet and a list of suggestions. While the suggestions are neat, the most interesting part comes when you click on the fact sheet and find you can search for other artists on the same record label, other projects by members of the band, genres, and even specific instruments. You can also search with Seevl directly and filter the results by year, genre, birth place and more. If you spend a lot of your time digging through YouTube looking for artists, Seevl is a handy way to provide context to what you’re watching.
