How To Hide The Notification Badges On Your iOS Home Screen

If you jailbreak, you know how annoying that little red badge on your Settings app is. You know there’s a new version of iOS, but you can’t upgrade because it’ll ruin your jailbreak and you just want that notification to go away. Here’s how you can do it.

iOS lets you remove badges from any app on your home screen except the Settings app, the App Store and Cydia. Thankfully, there are three apps available in Cydia — OTA Begone, No AppStore Badges and No Cydia Badges, respectively — that will remove them for you. They’re in the BigBoss repository, so just head to Cydia and search for the tweak you want. After installing, just click on the new app’s icon on the home screen to configure it, and shuffle it away into a folder. It’s kind of annoying that they each create new icons on the home screen, but as I already have a folder for miscellaneous apps I don’t want to see, it isn’t a huge issue.

All three apps are free downloads from the Cydia app store for jailbroken iOS devices.
