Plastic cereal dispensers are thin and small enough to make perfect bins for cars. The snap-cover lid also keeps trash from falling out, just in case the dispenser gets knocked over.
There are similar dispensers for sugar and other pantry items that are smaller or have different dimensions if you have space issues.
