Instead of trying to tackle your entire workspace in a single day, Unclutter recommends breaking your desk into different function zones and cleaning them one at time over the course of a few days. For zones, they suggest eight different functions that are pretty common:
- Equipment
- Inbox
- Current Projects
- Active Files
- Reference Materials
- Supplies
- Archived Files
- Personal Items
