Skype For Windows Phone 7 Hits Some Handsets

Closer integration of Skype with Microsoft products was always one of the expected consequences after Microsoft purchased Skype. That’s slowly coming to fruition, with a beta for Windows Phone 7 devices now available.

Right now, the beta has only been certified on a handful of models, including the just-arriving Lumia 710 and 800 and some older HTC and Samsung models. If you give it a spin (my WP7 handset isn’t supported), share your thoughts in the comments.

  • Hmm, Not sure about the supported devices, but I just loaded on my HTC HD7 fine.

Looking at the supported models I would simply say that the requirement is that your phone is running the latest Mango updates.

    • Also tested now with a few numbers and all seems good. Little laggy, but no more than you’d normally get with Skype. Thinking that it may be my mobile connection

  • Works on my LG E900 without any hitches. Just use the download directly to phone link from the Skype Blog.

The only requirement seems to be the Mango (7.5) update
