ABC Aftermath Tracks Impact Of Natural Disasters

News crews will race to an area when there’s a natural disaster, but rarely hang around to look at the long-term impact of fires or floods on a community. The ABC’s new Aftermath site offers individual accounts of what happens after a disaster, covering the stages from fighting the disaster at its peak to eventually rebuilding.

Built as part of the ABC Open project, the site includes both community-contributed and ABC-produced videos, photos and blogs detailing how natural disasters can drastically change individual lives. It’s not always easy viewing, but it’s definitely a worthwhile project.
