Opera 11.60 Enhances Mail, Browser Performance

2011 has seen browsers updating faster than ever before, though Opera hasn't adopted the Firefox trick of upping the version number every couple of months. Its newly-released version 11.60 desktop browser adds an enhanced mail client, better support for handling rendering erors, an improved browser engine and changes to auto-suggestions in the address field.

Those aren't massive magnitude changes even compared to , but that's been true of most browser enhancements in recent years. It will be interesting to see how the new release stacks up the next time we run our browser performance tests, though Opera already advanced plans for Opera 12 as well. Opera is a free download for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Best browser I've used, narrowly ahead of Chrome and miles ahead of the rest.

I'm liking it too, but can't figure out how to keep a pinned tab to reopen next time the browser opens ...can anyone help me out?

Choose "continue from last time" in Settings-Preferences-General-Startup

thanks yeah worked it out, only with Firefox & Chrome I can reload pinned tabs as well my homepage, in Opera it seems you can't do both

          Don't know if this works..

1.Go to the following page and drag the botton, which is created by Pesala, next to the the toolbar on the top left hand corner (between the key and the web address field) http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=265206

2.Click and hold the new reload button you've just made, then it will refresh all tab.

3.(Optional) Settings-Preferences-Advanced tab-History-(choose "Always" for both "check documents" and "check images")

P.S it worked for me, hope it works for you too! And, I forget to say, step 3 may take longer time to load a webpage than usual

thanks, but I meant I wanted Opera to keep my pinned tab, as well as any home tabs I also set, whenever I reopen Opera

but that is a cool button, thanks for that too haha!

Love Opera, but it's a memory hog compared to Chrome.
