Shuffler.fm Is A Flipboard-Like Music Discovery App

iPad: Digital magazine Shuffler.fm is the perfect blend of music news and a music player, making it easy to discover new bands and albums right from your iPad.

The internet has provided us tons of new ways to discover music, but Shuffler.fm takes it in a different direction. Instead of recommending music to you directly, it organises itself into a number of genres, within which you can browse articles on the latest bands, albums, and news while listening to related tracks at the same time. It even supports AirPlay, so you don’t have to listen on your crappy iPad speaker.

The app is laid out almost exactly like previously mentioned Flipboard, presenting everything in an easy-to-browse tile layout. When you tap on a track, you can listen to it right from the app, see an accompanying video where applicable, and swipe to read a full article from the music blog that posted about it. It sounds a bit old-school and boring, but it’s actually a great way to keep up on your favourite genres and bands- – I was pretty shocked at how fun and easy it was to use (and find music I liked). Hit the link to check it out.

Shuffler.fm is a free download for the iPad only.
