iPhone/Android: We’re rather fond of RunKeeper, a free app for keeping track of distance travelled while running and cycling, but one problem it had was that it continued logging your time even if you’d stop at a light or to tie your shoe. A new update fixes that and adds some new features.
On top of the auto pause, the update also adds support for heart rate monitors and helps visualise your heart rate and provides audio cues while you’re working out to keep you in your target training zone. The Android app also gets some of the functionality the iPhone version has had, including the handy workout countdown timer and photos. You’ll need to turn on the new features by going to the settings menu inside the app.
